Alumna Dr. Rachel Saunders Selected as a Recipient of NCACES Grant Award

UNCC’s Alumna, Dr. Rachel Saunders, has been selected as a 2022 North Central Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (NCACES) Grant Award recipient. The purpose of this grant award is to fund studies that increase understanding of the counselor education profession (including research, teaching, supervision, leadership, and advocacy). Drs. Saunders and Foxx received $750 for funding to help with instrument validation for an assessment tool specific to culturally responsive school counseling. The aim of this tool is for school counselors to respond to issues of race, gender, and class that may prevent opportunity and access to academic achievement. The USCC congratulates Dr. Saunders and Dr. Foxx on receiving this competitive award and their continued efforts in validating a culturally responsive school counseling instrument!
