COLLEGE AND CAREER COACHING, PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE
The College and Career Coaching Certificate program equips counselors, educators, advisors, and non-profit personnel with essential knowledge and strategies for culturally competent and equity-focused practices. The certificate is designed to meet the needs of individuals seeking access to postsecondary education that is aligned with career and personal interests. The curriculum will cover college admissions advising, career coaching, financial aid planning, and increasing access to postsecondary education. The Academic Partner will infuse concepts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
After completing the coursework, you will be able to:
- Identify culturally responsive college coaching and advising practices
- Know and apply career theories
- Understand strategies for financial aid and scholarship planning
- Identify strategies for increasing access for all students to postsecondary education
- Use culturally responsive practices in guiding caregivers through the college admissions and financial aid processes
